Red Carpets

Special congratulations to Baron DeKalb Elementary, Blaney Elementary, Doby’s Mill Elementary, Leslie M. Stover Middle and Lugoff Elementary  for winning “Red Carpet” awards from the State Department of Education.  These awards recognize excellent customer service and result from a process that includes a written application and anonymous visits and phone calls to assess how a school actually interacts with the public.  I had a great time joining School Board member Carol Thompson  to surprise the folks at Baron DeKalb with their award.  Outstanding job by each of these schools!

Looking Forward To….

This morning, I’m looking forward to visiting one of the schools in our district that will be receiving  a “Red Carpet” award from the state for excellent customer service…Today is the day statewide recipients will be announced.  Always fun!

This afternoon at 4:00, I’m looking forward to talking with the SIC and other parents from Lugoff-Elgin Middle School about the desired characteristics of a new principal.

Since I won’t be able to get to Aiken this evening, I’m also looking forward to listening to the Lugoff-Elgin-South Aiken state championship baseball game on WPUB at 7:00 p.m.  Go Demons!
