“Dolphin Tales”

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Doby’s Mill Elementary Literary Journal, “Dolphin Tales.”  Special thanks to fifth grader Kinsey Barker for so graciously sharing the authorship by-line with me on a sequel to “The Sweetest Fig.”  Although I helped, she did most of the work.  Reading student writing is a real joy for me!

LEHS Yearbook Recognized

I am extremely proud of the fact that the Lugoff-Elgin High School Yearbook was recognized by Walsworth Publishing with a “Gallery of Excellence” award.  Only 5% of the yearbooks published by Walsworth nationwide received this honor and only 4 schools in South Carolina were recognized.  I have always admired the way in which the LEHS Yearbook has been on the “cutting edge” of creativity and new trends.  Super job!

Recognition For Excellence In Communication

I am very proud of this recognition…..KCSD does an outstanding job with communications with fairly limited resources….

Jim Smith Honored By Midway Elementary

I enjoyed watching long-time Board member Jim Smith honored by Midway Elementary School this morning for his countless hours of volunteer time at the school.  Midway dedicated its 2015 yearbook to Mr. Smith.  A much-deserved honor!

Special Thanks To Camden Rotary!!

I also want to recognize and thank the Camden Rotary for its generous donation of furniture for the Jackson Teen Center.  The Rotary Clubs in our community do a tremendous amount for our schools in so many ways quietly and without much fanfare.  Just another example.

Duke Power Supports Jackson Teen Center

I am deeply grateful to Mr. Rick Jiran and the folks at Duke Power for the generous grant of $2,000 to support the Boys and Girls Club Jackson Teen Center.  The funding will be used for furniture and equipment for the Center.  Great news!
