I was pleased and very thankful to learn that Second Look Charities had donated $2,000 to our nurses to help support students with unfunded health crises. I am deeply appreciative of this support for the health care professionals that work with our young people and their families.
It’s a great source of pride for me to see all the activities and education that go on in our schools in observance of Veterans Day. I believe that our job as a school district goes far beyond academics. What our schools do on Veterans Day to honor our veterans and the sacrifices they have made is an extremely important part of the education of our young people. This is one of my favorite days of the school year!!
One of the things I’ve most enjoyed as our three high school volleyball teams have gone through the playoffs is seeing players (and parents) from all three teams attending the playoff games at the other schools and showing support. Something else that makes our community special!
I was extremely pleased, excited, and proud to learn this morning that Emma Nash from Camden High and Bree Lee and Logan Coates from North Central High had been named to All-State volleyball teams.
Last night, both Camden and North Central advanced to the next round of the state tournament to be played Monday night.
Good luck to Lugoff-Elgin as the Lady Demons play this evening at 6:00 at LE!
