I was a great start to my week to learn that three members of our Adult Education staff had been recognized by the South Carolina Association of Adult and Continuing Education. Teresia Hayes was named Paraprofessional/Administrative Clerical Assistant of the Year, Kammie Reed was named Full-Time Teacher of the Year, and Bridgett Bailey was named Transition Specialist of the Year. Gladys Smoak was also nominated for Part-Time Teacher of the Year.
The fact that one district received such significant statewide recognition is a tribute to the outstanding work done by our Adult Education Program. Adult Education has been one of the great success stories of our district over the past several years. The program has had tremendous success in terms of helping adults, especially young adults, to earn a diploma or a GED. This program is a huge asset to our community!
