All-Academic Team

Twenty years ago, Mr. Victor Jowers of the Upchurch and Jowers insurance firm asked why there was not an All-County academic recognition similar to All-County athletic recognition.  That simple question launched the Upchurch and Jowers All-Academic Team.  Over the past 20 years, this program has recognized academic excellence of seniors from our three high schools.  The twentieth anniversary of this program made last evening’s recognition event particularly special.  Many thanks to Upchurch and Jowers for the firm’s long and enthusiastic support of this very unique program.  Congratulations to the seniors who were honored and to their families who provide so much support for these young people!  A great night!!!!
