“Principal of the Year”

At this morning’s administrative staff meeting, I was honored to announce that Ms Ginger Catoe, Principal of Doby’s Mill Elementary School, has been selected by her colleagues as the Kershaw County “Principal of the Year.”  Ms. Catoe is an outstanding administrator and leader and is most deserving of this recognition.  What made this particular occasion even more special is that we were able to involve Ms. Catoe’s father (via telephone), a retired principal, in making the announcement.  Thanks to Ginger’s husband, Marcus, and Mary Anne Byrd from our staff for helping make this happen.  I think Ginger was truly surprised.

Demon Street Ball Tournament

Each year, Lugoff-Elgin High School marketing teacher Derek Berry has his students do a “real-life” marketing project.  This year, the class project is marketing and running a three-on-three basketball tournament which will be held on Tuesday, March 30 from 6-8 p.m at the LEHS gym.  I hope the community will suppport this excellent learning experience for these students.
