State Superintendent’s Writing Competition Winners Named

Congratulations to Hannah Plyler, a fifth grader at Lugoff Elementary School, and Tara Brown, an eighth grader at Camden Middle School, who have been named the local winners in the State Superintendent’s Writing Competition.  They will receive a certificate and plaque from the State Superintendent at a statewide awards ceremony in May. Congratulations to these students and to the teachers who helped them become such excellent writers!

Palmetto Gold And Silver Awards

Another great day for our school district!  Five of our schools have been recognized by the state as Palmetto Gold or Palmetto Silver winners.  The honored schools include ATEC, Camden High, Lugoff-Elgin High, Lugoff-Elgin Middle, and North Central High. In addition, North Central High also received a special award for closing the achievement gap.  These awards are a testimony to the staffs, student bodies, and communities of these schools. Just outstanding!
