LEHS student named as 2008 National Merit Scholarship semifinalist

September 17, 2007 – Lugoff-Elgin High School (LEHS) student Will Langford was one of 158 South Carolina seniors to be named semifinalists in the 53rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. He was among 16,000 students to achieve the ranking nationwide and the only student selected in Kershaw County, according to officials at the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Continue reading

Fun at the “Follies”

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of participating in the Kershaw County Fine Arts Center “Follies.” It was a great time, although I think I’ll hold on to my day job. The Arts Center is a tremendous asset to this community, and I look forward to continuing to build on the strong relationship that has existed for many years between the District and the Fine Arts Center.

Welcome to my “Weblog” or “Blog!” I really appreciate the work that Julie Putnam did to get this set up technologically. I hope to use the Blog to communicate with the public about what’s going on in the District and to highlight accomplishments of students and staff.
