I read your blog to keep up with the fabulous things your “new” county is doing. Sometimes one just needs their “Dr. Morgan fix.” Hope you are following GHS football this year. The Bulldogs have been AMAZING! Goochland sure does miss you!

Tammy – Thanks for your questions. This coming Tuesday, the Board will discuss the redistricting option for West Wateree presented by consultant Dr. Jerry McKibben at last Tuesday’s Board meeting. When the Board has decided on an option it wants to seriously consider, which I think will be shortly, a series of public meetings will be set up to take public comment on the proposed lines and grandfathering. You should also feel free to contact your Board member with feedback. The work on the addition to Blaney, which is three small additions to three wings of the building, will begin in the next couple of weeks with completion slated for July. What about Doby? When are we going to find out about which school our children will be in. Also if your child is in Doby at what grade will the cut off (if any) will it be for them to finish at the school. Once again our community is telling us we are rezoned for Blaney and now this is to be to much to keep waiting for answers.I feel like this is very important since the district has brought this up over a year ago and we still have no idea where our children are going to be at next year. You also stated in the meeting that you will be adding on to Blaney for the changes. When will the construction start? Will it be going on while the children are in school next year.

I was very pleased to read that several schools in the district recognized such an important day. My child attends a school that didn’t have any special program, and being part of a military family, I would have liked my child’s school doing something to teach the students about Veterans’ Day and the purpose of it being a holiday. Thanks to those schools who recognized and honored our military for their many sacrifices that they made (and continued to make) for our freedom.
