Adult Education Graduation

There are many events I enjoy in the spring, but the Adult Education graduation is one I particularly enjoy and value.  This very special occasion honors people who have persevered in spite of bumps and difficulties in their lives.  It is a celebration of the accomplishments of these individuals and the people who work so very hard with them.  It is always a privilege for me to be involved in this ceremony.  I was especially taken by the speeches that were delivered by GED graduates Darius Catlin and Nikki Branham.  Both of them acknowledged the challenges they have faced as adult learners and the support they both have received from the Adult Ed staff and their families.  The genius of American education is that our system always provides an opportunity for those who want to take advantage of it; it’s never too late.  Last night’s ceremony is truly a testimony to this.

  1. Dr. Morgan, thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate the effort you always make in being present at our graduation ceremony. I know that it means a great deal to the folks that we serve for you to be there. We hope that the encouragement they receive from their experience with Adult Ed and from all the folks they come in contact, like yourself, will help keep them focused on their goals and that they will continue to succeed in whatever their future plans might be.

  2. Dr. Morgan, the Adult Education staff and students appreciate the support that we receive from you and the District Office. The fact that you took the time to run from a Retirement Celebration straight to our graduation celebration meant so much to our students, teachers, and me. We are a small operation, but our staff cares so much about the people who come looking for a second chance. Thanks so much for helping us honor them.
