An Exemplary Audit

Tonight, the School Board will receive the report on the annual audit of the school district’s finances.  As has been the case for several years, the district will receive an “unqualified” audit, which is the highest possible rating.  This rating is reflective of the outstanding work done by staff at both the school and district level.  Because of stricter accounting laws passed over the passed several years, financial accounting in the public sector is unbelievably complex.  The fact that the district continues to receive the “unqualified” rating speaks highly to the fact that we take our role as stewards of public funds very seriously.  [View the full audit report.]
