It was really nice to have the members of the North Central High School Teacher Cadets at last evening’s School Board meeting. This is an outstanding group of young people! They’re about to start their field placements in classrooms at the elementary and middle school levels, and I know they are going to do a great job. Their teacher, Heather Keith, has really done exemplary work with this program. In just a few years, I hope these students will be coming back to Kershaw County to teach.

I am excited that such a program has gotten off to such a rousing start at NCHS. As an alumnus and former administrator at North Central, I am thrilled that we are breaking new ground with this (and other programs such as drama) in the N.C. area! Kudos to the teachers and administrators for being innovative – - Go Knights!
On an related note, nice job to Dr. Burch Richardson for doing such a great job at NCMS. The school looks great, and it is evident that some significant initiatives are in place to increase student learning and achievement.
