I am extremely excited that on Friday, November 21, approximately 70 community members will be coming together to start the process of writing a multi-year federal gang prevention grant. I have been gratified by the support we have received from County Council and City Council in terms of providing funds to support the grant writing process. I also want to thank Camden Mayor Mary Clark for her personal contribution and recognize the young people in the community who took up a collection at a step show event this past weekend to support the grant development effort. The leadership of Paul Napper and his staff at the Alpha Center has also been just outstanding. Paul and his folks are truly a beacon in this community. It has been tremendously energizing to see the entire community come together on this.
